MEDIA RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Getting Fired Up for a Good Cause June 20, 2014 – Victoria, BC – The Chamber kicked off its annual auction donation campaign with the help of the Victoria Fire Department and past auction guest Janice Solotki of Parker Johnston Industries Ltd. Janice outbid the competition to win an unforgettable meal sliced, diced and prepared by Victoria’s firefighters. But that is not the only auction item Janice cashed in on. In addition to the firefighter dinner, Janice also got her car washed in style. The Chamber’s CEO Bruce Carter arrived, sporting his tux, to wash Janice’s car Thursday afternoon. “Each year, we strive to have a few auction items that excite the imagination and that are not otherwise available. Admittedly those make the liveliest bidding. This package was definitely one of them,” said Bruce Carter, The Chamber CEO. “I would like to thank the Victoria Fire Department for its generous donation, as well as Janice Solotki for her ongoing support of The Chamber over the years. The Chamber is looking forward to this year’s auction and anticipates more sought after items and enthusiastic bidders!” The 32nd Annual Dinner Auction Gala is The Chamber’s largest fundraising event. The Chamber has launched its donation campaign for this year’s auction. For more information on the auction visit victoriachabmer.ca or to donate items please contact Oriane Fort, Events Manager at ofort@victoriachamber.ca.
