The concerns of the food and beverage sector in particular were acknowledged and the board supports the creation of a new level of minimum wage that recognizes significant income from either gratuities or commissions. “The response from members was overwhelming with 20% of the Chamber membership responding to the survey in very short order. At the same time we heard from the many members who are very sensitive to the concerns of our members in the food and beverage sector where employee income is not well reflected by minimum wage,” said Bruce Carter CEO.
