Today marks International Transgender Day of Visibility, a day to amplify the voices of trans and non-binary individuals while celebrating their resilience. In Canada, 1 in 300 people identify as trans or non-binary, encompassing our diverse family, friends, and neighbors. Despite progress in embracing gender and sexual orientation diversity, challenges persist in securing basic rights, and discrimination, transphobia, and barriers to healthcare and education remain prevalent. Every year at BCLC, we recognize the International Transgender Day of Visibility and stand in solidarity with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community members and colleagues. We LOVE celebrating our incredible employees, and this week we had the opportunity to host the 'unsung heroes' of BCLC at the Vancouver Canucks BCLC Community Hero game! The BCLC Community Hero program recognizes individuals who have a positive impact in their communities and are publicly recognized with a unique fan experience at a home Canucks game. For the first time, we offered the same opportunity to BCLC employees who deserved to be recognized and rewarded for their selfless work. We want to give a huge shout-out to the six employees who continue to go above and beyond in their communities in incredible ways. Way to go, Jeremy Markel, Brad Remano, Aditi Gupta, Shari Finlay, Janice Yeung, and Robert Moonie! Giving back is at the forefront of what we do at BCLC, and we love to see (and reward) the employees who share that value!

✨ WINNER WINNER! ✨ Our Vancouver office came alive again last week as we had the opportunity to celebrate another big winner! Hao Ping Chung took home a life-changing $58 million after winning the first Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball Jackpot in B.C.! Surrounded by excited BCLC team members and media, Hao shared his excitement for the future, and our Chief Operating Officer, Dan Beebe, was privileged to present him with the big cheque! Congratulations to our latest winner, and kudos to the team members who contributed to bringing this incredible celebration to life.

🎉 This week, we had the privilege of celebrating Sharon, B.C.’s newest Lotto Max Jackpot winner, who claimed an $18-million prize! Gathering at our Vancouver office, we were joined by Sharon, her family, dedicated BCLC team members, and members of the media. It was an amazing moment as we listened to Sharon who shared her excitement and plans for the future — including some upcoming sailing trips with her husband! We’re also proud to share that our Chief Information Officer and VP of Business Technology, Mark Goldberg hosted his first winner’s celebration and had the honour of presenting Sharon with her life-changing cheque!
