Flower counting is a social thing!

The Flower Count is an annual light-hearted promotion sponsored and organized by The Butchart Gardens and Tourism Victoria. The goal is to bolster community pride and increase awareness of Greater Victoria as an attractive shoulder-season tourism destination.

Each municipality across Greater Victoria is encouraged to take up the challenge to be the “Bloomingest Community” of the Greater Victoria area! People reporting flower counts will have their number attributed to their community. Whether they live on the Saanich Peninsula or in Sooke, every flower counts, for their own community and for the overall total.

Let the world know Greater Victoria truly has the earliest blooming flowers in Canada! Get noticed, and show your pride in your municipality and flowers – and be counted. Post your own flower count ( http://www.flowercount.ca/ ) and encourage your friends and family to do the same. Then, share on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and LinkedIn to show and tell with photos and videos of: flowers, flower counting with friends, and other associated outdoor activities. Last year over 17 BILLION blooms were counted! Let’s beat it this year!
