This workshop will give you the information you need to help you prepare to become a supervisor. Join us and learn about the reality of a supervisor’s day, week, month and year. You will get to sample some of the challenges of the job so you have a better understanding of the day-to-day activities of the supervisor’s life. You will learn all about:delegating appropriately; handling office politics; dealing with individual’s work problems; handling teams and personality differences; managing multiple interruptions; paperwork and record keeping; human resources issues; the tug of war between time for your staff and time for your boss; being the bearer of bad news - professionally; why you can’t be friends and the boss – boundaries are important; supervising your peers/colleagues after your promotion; performance appraisals; setting standards and making sure they are met; stress management and personal care; as well as the importance of networking and creating a network outside of your group.
