You will learn about the functional responsibilities of a Board Member and what information is essential for the pathway to success for a new Board member in any kind of organization. You will engage in group discussions and take away resources and tools that will assist you in orienting Board Members in your own context. About the facilitator Patti Hunter is the Principal of The Benchmark Group, an organization that provides strategic planning, governance training and other organizational development services. She has served on different Boards over the past 30 years including BC Recreation and Parks Association, Sport BC, BC Centre of Excellence for Women’s Health, ProMotion Plus for Girls and Women in Sport and for the past 12 years the Peninsula Co-op. Patti holds Honors Certificates from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in Management Systems and Human Resource Management. In addition to this, she holds professional development certifications in Volunteer Management, On-Site Analysis Facilitation and is a registered BC Recreation and Parks Association Trainer of Leaders. About the Venue This workshop will be held at the Volunteer Victoria Learning Centre. Light snacks and beverages provided. Parking is most easily found at the City Parkades (Yates or View st), or at the Bay Centre parkade. Please know that the first hour is always free in City Parkades.
