Have you ever skipped an event because you just couldn’t bring yourself to enter a room filled with people you didn’t know? Perhaps you have stood at an event pretending to be on the phone because you don’t have anyone to talk to? Well guess what – it doesn’t have to be like this. It is time to change the way you network! Not just change the way you think about networking – no more shiver of dread for you – but instead, to give you tools, techniques and a new perspective on what networking is and can be. Networking isn’t about getting your business card into the hands of as many people as possible. Those days are over. Networking is about building relationship, helping people and connecting on a number of levels. This workshop will help you identify ways you can build your network, be of service to others and make great connections, even friends, along the way. When you leave this workshop, you will understand… What it means to be a heart-centred networker How to be in service to others during the networking process Where to network so that it feels good! About the Facilitator Denise is the Founder and CEO of Engaged HR and has been in the Human Resources field for over 20 years. She holds a Master of Arts in Leadership from Royal Roads University, and is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP). Denise has a wide array of leadership experience including running a multi-million dollar non-profit organization. Denise is known for bringing new ideas and innovation to the way people work together and creating forward-thinking workplaces. She is a sought-after consultant, speaker, and facilitator on a variety of HR topics and creates workplaces where everyone has opportunity to gain meaning from their work, and where business owners are proud of their workplace. Denise was a long-time reluctant networker until she figured out a way to make it easy and comfortable and now you will see her at all kinds of networking events! About the Venue This workshop will be held at the Volunteer Victoria Learning Centre. Light snacks and beverages provided. Parking is most easily found at the City Parkades (Yates or View st), or at the Bay Centre parkade. Please know that the first hour is always free in City Parkades.
