This workshop offers a practical 'how-to' session that will focus primarily on challenges facing many non-profits: how to find sponsors, how to secure them, and how to keep them. This half-day session will work through real world examples, providing attendees with resources to use in their own planning, proposals, and presentations. Whether you are developing a sponsorship program from the ground up, or seeking an opportunity to enhance your existing sponsorship programs, this workshop will provide you with the tools you need to seek and keep sponsors for your organisation. Learning Outcomes At the completion of this workshop, participants will be able to: Review your sponsorship foundation: Taking inventory, defining your audience Identify prospective sponsors: Matching sponsors to your needs Research corporations in-depth: Where to gather the intelligence you need Create persuasive sponsorship proposals: What / what not to include, pricing Sell sponsorships: Making the pitch, mastering the sales process, negotiation Develop a sponsorship management strategy: Retaining sponsors through good planning Deliver powerful reports: Quantifying the impact of a sponsorship About the Presenter Sean Rodman has worked in the non-profit industry for almost 20 years, and is the founder of Philanthropy Intelligence Consulting. He has a passion for being a catalyst for good; helping organizations realize their potential and finding sustainable ways to support their work. Sean has worked with wide range of organizations, including the Royal BC Museum, the Greater Victoria Public Library, and Pearson United World College. He is known for his ability to find and secure corporate and government funds, and has particular expertise in prospect research and proposal writing. Outside of work, Sean volunteers with several organizations, including the Association of Fundraising Professionals where he currently serves on the board of directors as the Chair of Sponsorship Committee. About the Venue This workshop will be held at the Volunteer Victoria Learning Centre. Light snacks and beverages provided. Parking is most easily found at the City Parkades (Yates or View st), or at the Bay Centre parkade. Please know that the first hour is always free in City Parkades.
