Event Description:
For more information and to register, visit, http://www.eventbrite.ca/o/volunteer-victoria-1749897131 Stories that inspire: Motivate your team and click with your key audiences A story is more than an anecdote or a description of an event. A good story has a mythic quality that raises the hairs on your arms and sends shivers down your spine. A good story told well can change your life. Leaders know the power of story and are able to tell stories in ways that resonate profoundly with their audiences. Great leaders go an extra step and become figures in a story that carries archetypal weight for generations to come. This workshop will build your understanding of how to connect at a deeper level with your supporters, stakeholders and the people you serve, bringing them more actively into your story. This half-day workshop will help you: Understand the elements of a powerful story Discover inspirational aspects of your daily work Relate your story to your audience's aspirations and need for inspiration Tell your story in an authentic and electrifying way Open the door to your audiences becoming the hero(ine) of a bigger story Facilitator: Sukumar Periwal helps creative people find their story and tell it more effectively using video, web and social media. He is a certified executive coach and hypnotherapist, reads tarot cards, and spends as much time with creative types as possible. Google him for more information or check out his LinkedIn profile and website. About the venue This workshop will be held at the Volunteer Victoria Learning Centre. Light snacks and beverages provided. Parking is most easily found at the City Parkades (Yates or View st), or at the Bay Centre parkade. Please know that the first hour is always free in City Parkades.
