Event Description: In this series of lecture and lab sessions students will learn about production patterns and the fashion industry techniques used in garment sewing. Participants will be introduced to the industrial sewing machine and serger and build a reference book of samples using industry standard construction techniques. The characteristics of a production pattern will be introduced and students will learn about the industry seam allowances and pattern markings that make sewing faster, easier and more economical. This course is a perfect for those wanting to elevate their sewing skills or those looking to apply to a full time fashion program in the future. *Some sewing experience is helpful but not necessary. Course Length: 6 weeks long, 36 hours instructional time. Start Date: Monday, October 20th Time: Modays & Thursdays 5:30pm - 8:30pm
