Event Description:
For more information and to register, visit, http://www.eventbrite.ca/o/volunteer-victoria-1749897131 Join Judy Lightwater, fundraising expert, for this hands-on session designed to get your prepared for donor request season in November-December! Write the all important donor appeal letter, role-play personal approaches, and look at trends in individual giving. The workshop is timed to get your donor request letters out in November or December, and to segment them according to previous gifts, gift levels, age, and potential for bequests. Come prepared with your past appeal letters, brochures, program and budget needs, and readiness to get to know your donors. This workshop is for organizations who are ready to devote staff and board time to individual giving, the largest pool of untapped energy and funds we have for community-based services. Seniors, baby boomers, Gen-X'ers, and Boom Echo'ers all want to give. Learn how to find new donors and stay connected to your existing ones. Learn how to ask and how to receive their support. About the Facilitator: Judy Lightwater has 25 years experience working with non-profit agencies to increase their revenues. She has developed successful strategies to assist organizations in raising funds from businesses, foundations, individuals and community donors when government funding was reduced. About the Venue: This workshop will be held in the Volunteer Victoria Learning Centre. Light snacks, coffee, tea, and water will be provided. Parking can most be easily found in nearby parkades - 1st hour free vouchers are available if you park in a City Parkade (Yates or View garages are nearest).
