Giving youth materials is just the beginning. This interactive workshop introduces the “ingredients” of active learning, explains the role that active learning plays in the experiential learning cycle, and helps participants create more effective and meaningful learning opportunities for youth. Choice #2 (YPQI methods): Cooperative Learning with Rebeccah Nelems Do the youth in your program have opportunities to work together in groups, teaching and learning from each other? Learn about how to foster Cooperative Learning in your youth program in order to nurture youth leadership, build community, and keep things fun! Saturday Lunch Networking: 12:30-1:25pm Hot Lunch and Networking Saturday afternoon session: 1:30pm-3:30pm How to Herd Cats: Facilitation Skills for Youth Group Organizers with GroupWorks An interactive workshop on deepening your facilitation skills and improving the effectiveness of events you facilitate. Introducing Group Works: A Pattern Language for Group Process, a 91-card deck of patterns of exemplary group facilitation.
