Event Description:
Join Claire Rettie for this final of 4 monthly 'lunch and learn' workshops. This interactive session focuses on Board Accountability Organizational success is a joint responsibility involving the elected stewards and paid staff. Increasingly, funders and donors are looking for non-profit boards to have defined board objectives and articulated accountability measures. This session explores ways to integrate board accountability into established governance practices and on how staff can frame and support this responsibility without absorbing ‘board work’ into operational job descriptions. About the Facilitator Claire Rettie holds a Master’s Degree in Social History. Her career includes work roles as an executive director for non-profit organizations in Alberta and British Columbia, a director in municipal and provincial governments, an instructor at the University of Victoria in communications and community development and with Dalhousie University in non-profit governance. As principal of an independent consulting and coaching practice Claire works with leaders and teams in the areas of strategic planning and communications, organizational change, and governance transformation. About the Venue This workshop will be held at the Volunteer Victoria Learning Centre. Coffee, water, tea and fruit provided, please bring your own lunch. Parking is most easily found at the City Parkades (Yates or View st), or at the Bay Centre parkade. First Hour Free vouchers are available if you choose to park in City Parkades.
