Event Description:
This interactive workshop with Heather Hughes is ideal for people who work with volunteers, and team leaders or supervisors of staff. We know you have a lot to get done and you need someone to help out, but what can you give to others and what should you hang on to? And how can you make sure things are being done well and on time? You may be wondering, how can I delegate to volunteers who are only here for short periods of time? You might be asking yourself… Isn’t delegation risky? We say, not if it’s done well, in fact delegation is essential for business growth, for team development and boosts engagement and morale. We know it’s a dilemma for many people so we have created this class to provide you with some tried and true approaches that take the risk out of delegating. At the end of this workshop you will be able to: Select suitable tasks for others to complete Communicate expectations and standards so people are successful Build in check points that don’t look like micro-management Engage others in task delegation to build skills Use delegation for risk management purposes Give feedback and recognition to boost morale This half day workshop will be a practical hands-on event with worksheets, group discussions and facilitated modules. You will leave with some clarity on how to make delegation work for you and your employees or volunteers.
