Time to update your headshot? Join us for this second offering of this highly popular event! The increase in our social media interactions at work and the amount of decision makers, potential clients, staff and volunteers who view our work online has made professional head shots an important asset to all organizations. Local photography studio BK Studios is hosting a “Portraits for the People” event to organize a head shot event for non-profit professionals. This is an opportunity to access a reduced rate for professional head shots, which normally range in price from $150-$300 per session. Photo sessions will be held at the Atrium. Individuals will have a brief photo shoot with photographers and then receive 10 photos from which to choose a single head shot image that will then be retouched and sent to them as a high resolution jpg. More information on BK Studio’s Portraits for the People: BK-Studio owners Anna McKenzie & Rebecca Kirstein provide free and reduced rate portraits in Victoria as a way of serving the community where they live. Past community events include: Four annual Family Portrait events in collaboration with the Cridge Centre for the Family, providing over 300 families with free framed family portraits Fundraiser for Child Find BC involving over 200 baby portraits in just 2 days To view their photo gallery and list of past clients, please go to: www.b-kstudios.com Venue and other information: Photo sessions will take place at the Atrium Building Lobby at 800 Yates St. Group sessions will be organized by half-hour time slots, each with a corresponding ticket. While most sessions will take about 5 minutes, please allow yourself up to 20 minutes potential wait-time. There are two great cafes at the Atrium that offer refreshments if you wish to wait there. Tips from BK Studios on what to wear to your session: Keep your clothing simple and avoid large patterns, logos or bold colours. If you want to add a pop of colour to your outfit, opt for a colourful scarf, jewelry or tie. Keep the rest of your outfit simple and neutral. Try to avoid the stark contrast of black or white and choose brown, beige, grey or navy instead.
