This advanced level workshop offers practical 'how-to' sessions that will focus on sponsorship sales and service: how to find sponsors, how to secure them, and how to keep them. A full day of sessions will work through real world examples, with additional material provided by workshop participants. Attendees will take away checklists and templates for planning, proposals, and presentations. This is an ideal opportunity for new and mid-level professionals who are developing a sponsorship program from the ground up, or for those who are seeking an opportunity to enhance their existing sponsorship programs. At the completion of this workshop, participants will be able to: - Review your sponsorship foundation: Taking inventory, defining your audience - Identify prospective sponsors: Matching sponsors to your needs - Research corporations in-depth: Where to gather the intelligence you need - Create Persuasive sponsorship proposals: What / what not to include, pricing - Sell Sponsorships: Making the pitch, mastering the sales process, negotiation - Develop a Sponsorship Management Strategy: Retaining sponsors through good planning - Deliver Powerful Reports: Quantifying the impact of a sponsorship About the Facilitator: Sean Rodman has worked in the non-profit industry for almost 20 years. He has a passion for being a catalyst for good, helping organizations realize their potential and find sustainable ways to support their work. Sean has worked with wide range of organizations, including the Royal BC Museum, the Greater Victoria Public Library, and Pearson United World College. He is known for his ability to find and secure corporate and government funds, and has particular expertise in prospect research and proposal writing. He also is skilled at facilitating groups to assist with strategic thinking, and brings clarity to complicated situations. Sean possesses a BSc in Anthropology and Environmental Science, and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Victoria. Outside of work, he volunteers with several organizations, including the Association of Fundraising Professionals where currently serves on the board of directors as the Chair of Sponsorship Committee. About the Venue: This workshop will be held at the Volunteer Victoria learning space. Light refreshments, baked goods and fruit will be served, please bring your own lunch or buy one from a local establishment. Parking is most easily found at the Bay Centre underground parking or the Yates or View st City of Victoria Parkades.A first hour free parking pass is available if you park in a City of Victoria Parkade.
