Event Description:
People spend up to 20% of their work life in a meeting. Yet, most people feel meetings are unproductive and unnecessary. If we learn to plan and lead a results-oriented meeting that saves time and money, we can transfer that time and money to the people we serve. It is possible to have a meeting people look forward to attending! Participants will learn: True cost of meetings Eleven (11) critical elements of an effective meeting Traits of an effective Chairperson Common meeting pitfalls Managing challenging meeting participants Dealing with challenging meeting situations Creative ways to excite people about a meeting Who should attend: People who lead ongoing meetings in their workplace or community. People who want to lead meetings in the future. People who wish to enhance their leadership skills and their professional profile. About the facilitator: Sarah Daviau spent most of her career working in the area of communications and marketing. This includes 14 years in the non-profit sector representing organizations such as the United Way, Red Cross and the Family Resource Centre.
