Event Description:
This workshop is for Youth Drop-in Staff, Leadership Program Leaders, and anyone who works with youth aged 13-18. It is packed with practical games and initiatives ideal for all kinds of youth - from those who come to drop-in programs, to organized youth groups to leadership programs. Great for Youth Workers looking for fresh new ideas and energy, this workshop helps recharge staff and refill their toolboxes! Workshop Objectives: Explore new ways to design and facilitate more engaging experiences for youth participants Learn new ways to establish norms with your groups using Full Value Contracts Participate in experiential activities that encourage youth groups to come up with a common vision, strategize as a team, and creatively solve problems together Examine the how’s and why’s of reflecting on, and debriefing an activity About the Facilitator: Jocelin Caldwell owns and operates Possibilities Training and Coaching Group (www.possibilitiestraininggroup.com), a consulting company specializing in team development, group facilitation and experiential learning programs. With over 10 years in employment counseling and 15 years in recreation and youth leadership, Jocelin has facilitated team workshops for corporate groups, non-profit organizations, government agencies, community centres and educators. She is a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation and holds her RRP (Registered Rehabilitation Professional) and CCDP (Career Development Practitioner) designations. About the Venue: This workshop will be held at the Vic West Community Association Gym . Light snacks and beverages provided.
