Event Description:
Join Volunteer Victoria’s Emerging Leaders Network for a seminar providing guidance on how to improve your professional image, increase confidence for key roles in your work place, as well as deepen your ability to apply appropriate social protocols in your professional interactions. The key modules covered are designed to increase knowledge on the impacts of social graces and etiquette on your professional path. It will enhance your skills as a healthy vibrant leader in your community. Topics covered will include: • Reducing social stress by applying appropriate social etiquette • Civility in the business environment • Impressions and professional dress • Creating personal and professional success • Increasing and retaining relationships with co-workers, superiors and donors • Impact of civility and etiquette on personal leadership About the facilitator Facilitator: Elizabeth Backman A Victoria resident and native of Montreal established her company two years ago to teach the ways of etiquette and civility in business and social settings. Elizabeth has motivated and taught valuable business lessons within companies’ operations, sales departments and with managers and executive, always stressing the importance of respect and communication. She believes in the importance of teaching children, tweens and teens along with young adults transitioning into university and then onwards to the business world. Her versatility enables Elizabeth to conduct in-house training, retreats, professional development days and speaking engagements. Tea/Coffee/water will be provided, but please bring your own lunch. Parking is most easily found on the street, and is cheapest for 1-2 hours in the City Parkades (Yates Parkade or View St parkades are closest).
