Event Description: For more information and registration, visit, http://volunteervictoria.eventbrite.ca/ Have you wondered how you can better contribute to your organization's fundraising efforts, or what is expected of a board in terms of fundraising? Join Judy Lightwater as you explore and better understand the role volunteer directors play in fund development, specifically in the context of annual and capital campaigns. You will learn how to: 1. Create an annual fundraising plan as part of your financial and communications planning each year 2. Recruit board members for their ability to interact with diverse parts of the business community 3. Support your executive director and staff as they establish and diversify fund development efforts, including individual giving 4. Cultivate donors and, with appropriate training, conduct peer to peer appeals for major, matching and other gifts 5. Evaluate your efforts. About the Instructor: Judy Lightwater has been helping charities with strategic planning and fundraising for over 25 years. She has worked with 150 charities in BC and western Canada to define the needs in their communities and develop professional fund development programs to meet those needs. Her individual giving program has helped many organizations cultivate relationships with donors and generate new revenues.
