Our Children's Centre Society (OCCS) opened in February 1992 to provide programs to preschool children of the employees of the Provincial Government of British Columbia. We owe our existence to the vision and commitment of Provincial Government employees who helped make their dream a reality.

Our Children's Centre opened February 1, 1992 at 4001 Seymour Place as a fully licensed facility to provide programs for 40 children - 8 infants (6 to 18 months), 8 toddlers (18 months to 3 years) and 24 preschoolers (3 to 5 years). Demand was evident as demand exceeded the number of spaces available.

In addition to the volunteers and Provincial Government employees, Our Children's Centre is deeply grateful to the Ministry of Labour and Citizens' Services and Ministry of Children and Family Development for their generous and ongoing support.
