We are passionate about food, which is why we made it our mission to help Canadians eat better, feel better and do better. Our knowledgeable and friendly teams are keen to share their passion with you! Since we opened our doors in 1977, we have valued the relationships we share with our communities.

We provide fresh food, supplies, funds and people to causes large and small. Each year we support over 1500 community organizations through both our Smile Card Fundraising Program and annual giving programs.  Other community-support initiatives include our Sendial Home Delivery Program and Thrifty Foods Young Chef  Program, where kids gain new food experiences through hands-on snack preparation, and learn about nutrition and the importance of physical activity.

We Pick BC First is our promise to always source products made, produced or grown within BC first, and to regard local relationships as a top priority. We are proud that these partnerships continue to grow, bringing juicy local berries, freshly baked tortilla chips, wild local salmon and halibut, and fine artisan cheeses to local communities – just to name a few!
