Located in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia, The Butchart Gardens, has been enthralling visitors for over 100 years with its stunning 22ha (55acres) of floral display gardens. Jennie and Robert Pim Butchart began The Gardens in 1904, and today it is still privately owned and operated, now by their great granddaughter. The Gardens is recognized as one of the Top 10 Gardens of the World. Comprised of several major gardens, including the Sunken Garden, Rose Garden, Japanese Garden, Italian Garden, and Mediterranean Garden, there is something to enjoy in every season. In 2004, The Butchart Gardens celebrated its 100th anniversary, and in the same year received designation as a National Historic Site of Canada.
