Inheriting both his name and active spirit the John Howard Society of Victoria uses modern methods to address the needs and concerns of prisoners.

Founded in 1935, the Society is concerned with the prevention of crime and its effect on our community. Staff and volunteers see it as their mission to provide services to people in conflict with the law; to understand and respond to problems of crime; to work towards the prevention of crime; to review, evaluate and respond to needs and concerns related to the justice system in order to make our community a safer place to live.
