Originally built in 1913 by the Scott & Peden Company as a warehouse overlooking the inner harbor in downtown Victoria, BC to provide goods and supplies to the local farming community.
Swans Brewery, Pub & Hotel was founded by Michael Williams in the late 1980’s who hired Frank Appleton, brew-master, to help build Swans Brewery making it one of the first microbreweries in BC which is still in operation today.
Next to Swans Brewery is the pub which has been built in the main section of the old warehouse. A covered patio provides year round views of the inner harbor and Johnson Street Bridge. Guests can sample beer made from Swans’ on-site brewery or an extensive selection of other craft breweries, with 58 draught taps there is something for everyone.
The original warehouse architecture is visible in most rooms displaying large wood beams, boasting high ceilings and some split level loft rooms. The hotel is located next to historic China town and is 1 block from the chic shopping district of lower Johnson St and the downtown core.
