Vancouver Island Brewing was the Island's first craft brewery. We began brewing in 1984 in Central Saanich, moving to the down town location in 1996.

Historically, breweries have played an important role in their communities and we hold true to this tradition by supporting many local organizations and events.

Our beers have won numerous international awards, and today we are one of BC's largest independent microbreweries. We are proud to still be locally owned and operated. It is our philosophy to produce world-class beers for the local market - just like life out here on the west coast; our beers are clean, fresh and natural.

Over 25 years of brewing tradition wouldn’t be complete without a few bragging rights over the years. As purveyors in the art of natural, craft brewing we have worked hard to develop our beers and their level of quality in order to be able to compete on a Canadian and global stage. Our dedication to the art of craft brewing has been rewarded over the years with multiple awards from a variety of national and international competitions.
