Songhees Nation of the Lekwungen People is a coast salish community of 587 members, located on a 60 hectare reserve adjacent to township of esquimalt. A thriving community, their development corporation operates 11 businesses and partnerships. The community is comprised of five main families and several smaller families. Administration and Governance is under the authority of an elected Chief and Council.

The Songhees Wellness Centre is a built and maintained LEED Silver building of 55,000 sq.ft. with a Geo Thermal Heating plant and in floor radiant heat. This is combined with a passive solar design that allows the winter sun light to reach into all of the offices warming all the offices. Our roof top solar array provides all our hot water needs.

We have universal access washrooms, showers and change rooms for all athletic abilities. Our gym hosts bleacher seating for 300+ to watch a host of sports, basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, lacrosse, hockey and tennis.

Public memberships are available to use our state of the art ‘fitness studio”, complete with outdoor yoga space and indoor padded floor for martial arts classes.

Our Wellness Centre offers wellness programs that include primary health clinics, pre and post-natal care, vaccination clinics, injury prevention training, chronic disease prevention and management, oral health, and facilitated fitness and recreation programs.
