NAF Canada

NAF Canada promotes, enhances, and ensures access to quality abortion care.  We promote reproductive health among women and pregnant people by ensuring that abortion care is accessible and carried out to the highest standards. We work toward high standards through training and education. NAF Canada hosts training  and conferences every year, including web-based courses.

We support physicians, nurses, counsellors, and administrators in providing safe, high-quality abortion care. We help improve abortion access by increasing the number of health care professionals educated and trained in abortion care provision. We provide educational opportunities to existing abortion providers, clinicians interested in providing abortion care and/or effective referrals or supports, and students in health care.

We also provide assistance to pregnant people through the Dr. Henry Morgentaler Patient Assistance Fund and Information Service (MPAF). MPAF helps pregnant people in Canada whose abortion care is not covered by provincial/territorial health insurance, who have to incur travel expenses in accessing abortion care, and/or who need information and logistical support. This fund and information service honours the legacy of Dr. Henry Morgentaler, who brought the Supreme Court case that lead to decriminalized abortion in Canada. By donating to this fund, your gift will go to help pregnant people in Canada access the safe, high-quality abortion care they need.
