Flower Count Takes Flight at the Airport on Thursday MEDIA RELEASE Flower Count Takes Flight at the Airport on Thursday February 24, 2009 – Victoria, BC – The Annual Flower Count kicks off in the Capital Region on Thursday February 25th with a launch event at the Victoria International Airport. The launch event is a friendly flower arranging competition between municipal leaders judged by a host of media personalities. “The Victoria Airport Authority (VAA) is delighted to be a contributing sponsor of the flower count. We’ll be co-hosting the event launch festivities which will include greeting arriving and departing travellers of our garden city with a bouquet of locally grown daffodils,” says Terry Stewart, Director Marketing and Environment. The public and media are invited to the launch event. The Greater Victoria Flower Count is a light-hearted event meant to promote Victoria as an attractive shoulder-season holiday destination.
